Deception
You lie – hiding behind a mask,
Lipstick stains your teeth,
Poison on your breath,
Your nails dragging across a face.
Truth looks into your cold eyes,
It sees past the shadows,
Clenching your pounding heart,
Blood dripping from the scratches,
Your hands stained, reeking
As you dissolve into ashes,
Painfully burning away,
Your heart slowing, your breath fading,
Death becomes your truth
As truth becomes you.
Released from the demon’s claws,
Reborn into an Angel’s arms,
To live bathed in light,
To fight the poison that taints
the souls that scream,
Who inflict pain and suffering
Until they fall to their demise,
As the lie fades away and
Truth remains an eternal reminder,
A self-inflicted savior.
